- For good and valuable considerations, the exchange of which is hereby acknowledged, Cat Association of Topeka, Inc., a not-for-profit Kansas corporation, referred to hereinafter as “C.A.T” and the undersigned, referred to hereinafter as the “Adopting Party” agree that the following will be provided for the above described cat at the expense of the Adopting Party: (1) Humane care and treatment, proper food, water, shelter, exercise and a loving environment; (2) Licensed veterinary care in case of injury or illness; (3) Regular vaccinations; (4) Compliance with all laws and ordinances applicable to the treatment and ownership of the above described cat now in force or as hereinafter enacted. The Adopting Party further agrees to return possession of the above described cat to C.A.T. if at any time the Adopting Party decides to relinquish custody of it. In the event the Adopting Party violates any provisions of this agreement, C.A.T. shall have the right and option to demand the return and possession and custody in and to the above names cat. If this demand is not met for the return of the cat, we have the right to go on either public or private property and take the cat, free of all right, title and interest to the Adopting Party, and without compensation to the Adopting Party. All right, title and interest of C.A.T. to the above named cat is hereby transferred to the Adopting Party without warranty or representation except as set forth herein. This agreement is not intended by the parties to be a sale of goods, or a sale of a cat from the C.A.T. to the adopting party. The transfer to the adopting party is not for a price. C.A.T. is not responsible for any illness of the cat or for any damage the cat may do to any person or property at any time hereafter. C.A.T. will accept the return of any cat adopted from our shelter. However, there will be no return of any contribution. C.A.T. prohibits declawing.
