HILL'S
IS PROCLAIMING JANUARY AS 1ST ANNUAL PET
TRANSFORMATION MONTH!
During the month of January
Hill's is starting a month-long effort to improve
the quality of life for pets. It starts with
people visiting their website at www.feedingisbelieving.com. There are wonderful pet stories,
learning tools Hill's products, and challenges!
It also will mark the launching of the first-ever
live toll free help line to help pet owners with
behavioral and nutritional decisions.
And on January 24th, Change
a Pet's Life Day, Hill's will give people across
the country a chance to welcome a shelter pet
into their home ... for free! C.A.T. will be
participating in this national free adoption day,
with Hill's subsidizing the adoption fee for the
first 10 adoptions at our shelter! We have lots
of wonderful cats just waiting to go to a new
home. So stop by and start checking them out and
get more information on how you can take one home
on Change a Pet's Life Day! We'd love to
introduce you!
THE
2009 C.A.T. CALENDARS ARE HERE!

It's hard to believe it's
already been 20 years for C.A.T. Here we are,
though, looking back at all the cats we've
helped, all the ways we've grown and expanded,
all the ways we've reached out, and all the
wonderful people we've met.
We're continuing our
commeration of all these fuzzy, friendly faces
with our 2009 C.A.T. Calendar. You'll see an
amazing collection of cats pictured here! We just
had to show off all the pictures we've taken or
that have been sent in to us over the years. And
there are some great cat stories, too! So stop by
to pick up one of these stunning 11x17 calendars,
just $16.99 each! They'll make a great gift for
any cat lover!
FEED
THE KITTIES!

In honor of our 20th
Anniversary we're on a campaign for change! Help
us with our Fill the Bank project. We've found
some adorable ceramic kitty banks and we're
trying to fill 20 of them this year. If you shop
at C.A.T. or just feel like visiting, drop some
change in the bank. Bring in that spare change,
and each time you add to the collection, you get
a chance to win the bank! (Just the bank, not the
money in the bank.) We don't know how much money
can be raised filling 20 of these cute little
banks, but it should be fun finding out! So dig
in those sofas, empty your pockets of that heavy
change and stop on in to fill the bank!
We've
given away 8 banks so far and raised over $250!
Keep it coming!

HELP!
CHANGES TO OUR EMAIL SERVICE HAVE CAUSED A SMALL
GLITCH
NexLynx.com does a
wonderful job of hosting our website and email
service. They are a tremendous help when we have
technical questions about our site. Recently our
email service was upgraded but somehow during the
switch it made our address books inaccessible. We
currently cannot send out Wish List email alerts
or notices to our online newsletter subscribers.
If you were on either of
our lists in the past, please email us so we can
update our mailing list. The current newsletter
is up and ready for viewing. Thanks for your
patience and understanding!
C.A.T.
PARTNERS WITH PET ASSISTANCE NETWORK OF TOPEKA

The newly formed Pet
Assistance Network of Topeka has begun offering
services to help pets affected by domestic
violence or homelessness. P.A.N.T. is beginning
by working with two agencies in Topeka, the
Battered Women Task Force and the Topeka Rescue
Mission. With help from several groups, including
some board members from C.A.T., a plan was put
together and they have officially started
providing help to those in need. In the past
C.A.T. received phone calls from individuals in
difficult situations nearly every week, but was
only able to offer limited support. Now by
collaborating with P.A.N.T. we can give them
better options. As the group becomes more
self-sustaining they'll be able to partner with
more organizations.

SPAY
DAY USA 2008! VOUCHERS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!

C.A.T. is participated in
Spay Day USA this year, a national campaign of
the Humane Society of the United States, by
handing out 100 vouchers good for $25 towards
spays/neuters. It will help pet owners get their
pets to the vet and promote the life-saving
benefits of spay/neuter. It is a great
opportunity to help with the Humane
Societys efforts to spread the word about
the importance of reducing pet overpopulation
through this national awareness holiday. Several
vets in Topeka have joined with us in this
special program to honor the vouchers. So if you
have a pet that needs be spay/neutered, or know
someone with a pet in need, stop by C.A.T. and
get your voucher! We still have lots left to help
out!
